Matting Removal
Cats with severely matted coats require extra attention. Mats in a Cat's coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the cat’s skin, which provides a breeding ground for parasite infestations. Feline Flair Mobile Cat Grooming will not cause serious or undue stress to your cat by de-matting. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the cat to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the cat's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to grow. In some cases, Cats may also exhibit brief behavioural changes like hiding, shaking, poor appetite, etc.

Prevention is the best defense by scheduling regular grooming appointments,  If your Cat needs to be shaved to remove matting, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk. We will not shave your Cat without your consent first and discussing options moving forward.

Aggressive Cats
Owners MUST inform the groomer if your Cat(s) bite, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, or specific grooming procedures.

Feline Flair reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such Cat(s) at any time before or during the grooming process, and charge a handling fee for Aggressive Pets in addition to the full regular grooming charge Feline Flair Mobile Cat Grooming has the right to refuse any services at any time. In the event that your pet is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, Feline Flair Mobile Cat Grooming has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and client will be charged a grooming fee (for services done up until that point).

Health, Medical Problems, and Senior Cats
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior or ill Cat and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. Because senior Cats  with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these Cats will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, and in styles that will not add to their stress.

Owners are required to let us know if your Cat has any health issues before the grooming starts.

In the best interest of your Cat your groomer may suggest immediate veterinary care should it be deemed necessary.

Accidents
Although accidents are very rare, there are risks when dealing with Cats. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Your cat’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an injury does occurs, you will be notified of the injury.
